I need to NOT follow my reference as closely if I want to make them more cartoony and awesome. I think.. Still learning here!

Last two of the 6 animations WIP! I'm loving the knock down animation! I didn't really follow the reference I had as closely and I found that to be some what liberating. However I did some what the opposite with the other one, following the video reference frame for frame, getting the timing and poses to line up. Though I did change the them a little. I need to NOT follow my reference as closely if I want to make them more cartoony and awesome. I think.. Still learning here!

So I kinda forgot I could be posting WIP of this animation. Whoops! Anyways it's finished now, so why not take a look at it! The animation is mostly to show off the rig's capabilities. The model and rig were made by my friend Tre Vital and the concept was created by Birttany Flynn. Did the seedling die? I like to think it more or less dried up and needs help. But the animation idea and character aren't mine so to be honest I don't know if he ded.
More WIP stuff. Human rig from Full Sail, dog rig from Here. It's all in stepped right now, but eventually it will be spline.
Here is some WIPs I've got done so far. A Jump up animation and an arrow shooting animation.
This might be a big one. Here it is. The finals classes. Time to take what I've learned so far... and be a badass with it. For this assignment, I was told to gather reference for what I wanted to animate (being that 3D Animator has become my main focus at the school). So I went online and found (with the help of my teacher) 6 awesome/interesting/crazy videos that look like fun to animate. And here they are.
So thats the plan, to create 6 animations using these 6 videos as reference. Things should turn out ok. Stay tuned for more awesomeness!
Well there ya go! These were some of my more interesting past works. From this point on it's just the new stuff! (unless I find something I forgot, then I'll probably post it if it's worth it) Stay tuned as awesomeness continues!
Here's another class assignment, the final for the class I was in. Before this one, my work was a little simple, so I wanted to make up for it by doing much more than needed for the final. Also I thought this idea was kinda cool. MAGIC BLOCK! So this is my concept for a robot character. I've been calling her Sara. Think bubbly cheerleader type of personality. I made this several months ago, but during my sparse spare time I plan on rigging her. I'm around 1/2 way done so maybe you'll see a video of her on here bouncing around all animated and such! But alas, that may not be for a while.
So this is from a project called, "NOW Thats What I Call Cyborgs!". Very strange name. Anyways, these are some of the things I made for the game. My favorite is the dripping pipe. I know it's simple, but the timing of the drip looks sooooo good to me!
This was modeled from a single image reference. (reference provided by Full Sail University, created by fightpunch). Another assignment from class. I'm happy on how it turned out! :)
Update: I found out where the concept came from. It was made by fightpunch http://fightpunch.deviantart.com/art/OceanGun-359310138 |
